CONGRATULATIONS!!! Betsy and Dustan, I am so excited for your halfway mark and Chad and I continue to pray and we are so thankful that you are having a great time and have wonderful stories to share with these 2 unadventurous parents - oh wait, parenting is a very huge adventure! We love you, Toni & Chad

P.S. Here's a funny story of our adventures - 2 times on Wednesday (at Dollywood with the family), both boys said, "Here Momma, Bugger," with a big nasty one on their fingers! YUCK!

WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! WISH WE COULD HAVE BEEN THERE WHEN YOU HIT THE l.000! WE HOPE YOU HAD SOME SPECIAL WAY OF CELEBRATING THIS BIG MILESTONE. WE CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR MORE OF YOUR TRAIL STORIES, BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN TELLING OUR FRIENDS THE ONES WE ALREADY KNOW AND THEY ARE AMAZED. WE'VE NEVER KNOWN ANY "AP" WALKERS BEFORE AND IT'S BEEN EXCITING.

HOW DO WE KNOW YOUR NEXT POST OFFICE PICK UP?

SAY HI TO THINKER FOR US. TELL HIM I'M SAVING THE CRACKER JACKS FOR A SPECIAL TIME. WE ENJOYED HAVING HIM HERE, TOO.

LOVE AND BLESSINGS,

CARL AND SCOTTIE

Congrats!!! So happy for you both and hope the "big D" is gone. PA is crazy rough - but NJ is beautiful and far easier walking. Nice to see Longshot in a kilt - makes me feel better about mine. Hugs and Kisses - Blaze.

Hey Guys! I'm in Boulder, CO, living it up with a bunch of high schoolers, haha But seriously, living it up. Hippies everywhere and Chautauqua Mountain is right out my window. So crazy. I'm praying for you guys, so excited you're so far along on the Trail.
I need an address for you guys...
Love you lots!

BB & SP,
So good to get your phone message last week Dustan.......you and Kendall have "weird" dreams!! Everyone is good.....Bitsy's Mom is doing as well as can be hoped for. There are no real miracles to hope for here......she is being given a month to "rest" before going back to chemo treatments. And these are to keep her feeling as good as they can for as long as they can. Bitsy says the cancer is not "curable". On a better note, Ed got the results of his follow-up PET CT last week and the tumor on his tongue was completely gone...Praise God!!! There will not have to be any surgery! The 2 in the neck were much reduced but they couldn't rule out residule tumor as there was inflammation showing there........more than likely though it's inflammed from all the radiation he got zapped with. They will re-scan that area in a month!!! In the meantime he's learning how to eat again....trying to get off the feeding tube and gaining some weight back! YEAH. Think of you both often. Let us know your next PO that you can pick up mail! Happy trails!! Hugs, Sherrie

Congrats on your fabulous progress! I bet you're in PA by now. Love your photos. Bridge-jumping ones are killer. (Betsy, your form is MUCH better.) Russell and Bruce just got back from Eugene, OR and the Olympic track & field trials -- an awesome trip. Keith is playing a lot of ball and bugging me about getting 2 more dogs. He does not realize I am a piece of granite on this issue. Russell's running. Bruce is working. I'm happy everyone ELSE can drive to the grocery store now. Love to you and your trail pals,
Kathy, Bruce, Keith, Russell, Sadie, Lars (still alive...)

Hi Dustan and Betsy,

I just read some other comments and it was nice to read Sherrie's. I gave thanks for Ed's good news. He really went through so much. We need to keep Bitsy's mother in our prayers as well. Kendall had told me about her illness. Season's folks have become just like another family to us.

Well, I hope you have gotten a couple of phone messages from us. We were in Harper's Ferry this past Thursday and being there made us think so much more of you all. We saw where the AP comes into the little town. I know you must have enjoyed your time there. What a quaint and historical area.

Talked with your mom yesterday, Betsy, and she updated me on everything and where you are. Glad things are continuing to go so well for you. She said Dustan's mom was going to walk some of the trail with you. That is wonderful!!

We still think about your short time at our home and how much we loved having you here. WE MISS YOU TWO AND THINKER!!! Please tell him hi for us. He's a great guy!!

Enough rambling on for this evening. We pray each day gets better and better and that one of your greatest memories on this trip will be the wonderful friendships you have created....which is an easy thing for you all to do.

Lots of love and hugs,

Scottie and Carl
