Bye, bye Trail (the dog)

After careful consideration, Bull and Sweet Potato have decided not to pick Trail back up after the Smokies. Doesn't she look bummed? I think the Sis and Dustan just feel like it's best for her and them if she goes back to Hidden Valley. Here's a little look back at her AT experience. After all, she did hike 130 miles with them:

Rarin' to go...

First night in the tent...

Aaah..now that's more like it...

On a rainy day at an AT shelter..

Catchin' a ride on a magic bus..

Dreaming of Hidden Valley....

The decision to not bring her along any further will definitely lighten their loads mentally and physically (no more dog food to carry) but I know they'll miss that ole Bah-bah girl.

That Trail, what a trooper! Even though she didn't get to finish the hike she still had quite an adventure. I'm sure she had plenty to tell "The Mill Creek Girls" when she got home. Hey "Bull" and "Sweet Potato", bet you feel a lot lighter minus that 7lbs. It is so awesome to be a part of this adventure, albeit via the web. Stacy, thanks so much for the time and effort you pump into helping us tag along. We continue to pray for the hikers as well as their messenger.... JJ&Don

oh sad. . . I'm sure Trail had a fantastic time but alas, Joshua and I know that joys of camping and hiking with a dog, there are time of great fun and great frustration! =) I'm glad Trail had the first few weeks with them! Can't wait to hear you've reached Shenandoah! Take care!

Bull & Sweet Potato - what a pair! Glad to hear you've had a rest day. Susie said Trail really got the Mill Creek girls riled up. It's cold and rainy here - I always seem to think of you more on days like this so I know it's God nudging me to pray for your comfort and warmth (and to say thanks for all He's blessed us with). We love you all! Zac and Martha

I can't believe that you all have hiked 130+ miles as I sit here waiting on my cinnamin rolls to bake and getting my kids ready to go to the Wal-Mart! What an odd life we all lead! I am so proud of you all and of sweet Trail! Praise God that she made it so far and Praise God for lighter packs! We are praying and so glad for the pictures of your smiling faces and letters we recieve along the way! We love you!

Yo guys! I kind of wish I was hiking with ya'll, seeing as how I'm cranking out the ten-pagers about every week now at the end of the semester...I'm glad you've found some friends to keep you sane along the way! Love you all!
